So if any of you are in the market for a thermos that actually functions as a thermos, this Stanley thing is ridiculously good.

My work doesn’t provide coffee because they are cheap evil spawns of the very cheapest people to ever be cheap in this world. So we have to bring in our own K-cups or buy the privilege of a warm beverage. (seriously, even the security team which walks our grounds in in the winter has to pony up for coffee)

So i brew at home, and then bring it in with me. I drink it black if that is of consequence.

Anyways. I have one mug that is a good travel mug, but a terrible thermos. I drink this one when I arrive and save this Stanley one-hand travel thermos for the afternoon.

I fill the coffee at 7:40-ish when I leave for work and have steaming-hot coffee at 2:30 in the afternoon. This thing is stupidly good for something that isn’t a system of 18 air-locks like the full Stanley I have at home for long trips.

If you’re in need of something like this it’s awesome.

Side note, the 12oz is the only one that will fit under a Keurig machine. Not a concern for me, so i have the 16oz, but if you use a Keurig at home, that would be good to know.

I’ve actually heard great things about this thermos. Not in need right now but if I were this is a good review.

If its even half as good as you say it is, $20 would be a steal.

Do we work in the same office? For any company, coffee and tea should just be the cost of running a business. We also use Keurig machines but I really don’t like K-cups because it’s just a lot of waste for a mediocre end result.

I try to do the same thing but with a Thermos twice the size - I fill it up at the beginning of the day and have a cup here and there.

I have some older Stanley thermoses and they are great. I had coffee in them a 3:00 am and the coffee was still hot at the end of my drive at 8:00 am. Like still almost too hot to drink.

I got mine for $23 on Prime (as a Christmas present and then another for my MIL for her birthday because she is constantly complaining about wasting coffee when she sets it down and then forgets where she put it for an hour only to find it cold), I didn’t sort through all of the buying options, so I don’t know how legit that Amazon link price is, but it is the best hand-held thermos I have ever owned. I had a Contigo before this and broke it by dropping it when stepping out of my car. The Contigo now leaks like a sieve.

It’s worth the cost of admission in my book.

Yes, but if I buy the competitor from Yeti, I can spend $3,749 and they’ll give me a cool sticker for the back of my: Tahoe .

Man, I need a Wrangler or Z71 Silverado, the Tahoe just isn’t the best canvas for these amazing stickers.

Sadly more true than not.

I found a Yeti cooler floating on a lake once. Thankfully it wasn’t full of dead person, so it worked in my favor. I donated it to the lake house wares, now i have cold beer for a week when I go out on the boat.

Unfortunately no sticker was found so my Yakima roof rack does not wear it as a symbol of my willingness to overspend for unnecessary quality.

We have one of these, it’s probably 25 years old.

Haha, if we don’t we at least have something in common.

I did the big thermos thing for a bit, but found it was 1. too cumbersome if i had a long meeting somewhere, and 2. couldn’t fit in a cupholder so I needed a co-pilot or rest stop if I was going to have more than 5-6 oz. at a time. Otherwise the thermal goodness of the big one wins out.

I see thermoses for sale all the time and they’re always $25 and up if they look like they’re of any decent quality so this one seems like a serious contender for my next one.

The Stanley line is full of really good products. I still have the Stanley I bought ~20 some odd years ago in my apprenticeship.

$20 is a heck of a deal too.

I have a big one too. It’s older than me. It’s just north of 1 Quart and stays hot for somewhere around 75 days. It’s old enough that it is a metal handle and such. I want to say 1978 or so. Looks like it’s been through a war, but it works so well i could probably use it as a slow cooker.

Yeah, I have the same weird boss. So yes, Stanley.

I also have one of the big-ass green thermos’ that kept me warm and caffeinated on long field days. Bulletproof.

I have that exact same thermos- and it’s why I’ll never buy Stanley again. Coffee goes cold in about 2 hours. Definitely not worth the 25 bucks.

The big thermos?

Make sure you have the right cap. One cap is insulated and another is not. I learned this from a guy i worked with who was having the same problem and turns out he had the wrong cap for it. Something about a gray cap instead of black or vice versa.

A green one- the one that came with it (and just like in the picture).

If they sell a thermos with an uninsulated cap that can’t keep coffee hot... yeah, there are other options out there.

I actually looked at buying one of these, but I got a normal Thermos brand one that works pretty damn good!

My uncle found one that fell off a truck. Outside of a few scrapes it is in perfect condition. He uses it when he goes hunting.
